With this starter kit and the included eBook you will get your first Internet-of-Things (IoT) project up and running in no time. The included ESP8266 module can be programmed with the beginner friendly Arduino IDE in C++. This kit has been successfully used to teach high school students the basics of electronics and programming. The ESP8266 WeatherStation fetches current and forecast weather information from an online service and displays expected conditions on a 128x64 pixel OLED display with beautiful icons. The program uses a side scrolling carousel to display the date and time, current conditions, 3-day forecast and temperature and humidity of the DHT11 sensor. The program can be extended to display other information such as realtime stock quotes or traffic information.
